What We Do

Poor dental hygiene and diseases of the mouth have become a major problem in the modern world, owing to the huge number of people that are affected by it, and the fact that dental treatments are very expensive and unaffordable to the common man. This has become an even more serious problem for countries like India, where the population is very high and we do not have a specific budget kept aside for helping the needy to fulfill their basic dental health requirements.
India is the country with the highest number of people having cancer of the mouth, due to various tobacco related habits, and yet, we have been unable to conceive a proper healthcare system to serve the needs of these people. It is under such a scenario that the Non-Governmental Organization called ‘Dentist and You’ (DAY) was born. The ultimate goal of DAY is to educate the common man and to train them adequately enough to take care of their own dental health, to such an extent that, dental concerns should no more become a burden upon them or the community at large. This concept is known as ‘placing people’s health in their own hands’. It is a Concept and a Philosophy that has been thoroughly studied, accepted and put to practice by the World Health Organization, and it is the same philosophy and model that is followed by Dentist And You.
In brief, DAY aims to diagnose and/or treat oral conditions, to provide quality & specialized oral healthcare to the community, Spreading Information about Oral health needs and conditions and to work with schools to develop a strategy to instill good oral hygiene routine in kids through various School Dental Health Programmes. DAY is dedicated to take oral healthcare to the geriatric and infirm section of the community through Mobile Dental Clinics
